About Me

This is me

Mother, born in Rio de Janeiro, journalist, writer. I believe that resumes me: a person in love with people and words.

I studied journalism and advertising at PUC Rio de Janeiro, where I still live, and I get expert degree in Literature for Children and Youth at Universidade Federal Fluminense. I worked press, marketing and artistic departments in the music industry for many years. Today I make English and Spanish translations, write press releases, reviews and scripts, do criticism readings, as well as mini workshops and training courses of writing and the literature for children.

My first book was released in 2001, the same year that I joined AEI-LIJ (Association of Writers and illustrators of Children and Youth Literature) where now I’m Communications Coordinator.

Sometimes I visit other writing fields. The most recent one was the song “Boitatá”, in cooperation with Raquel Durães, included in the album Beija-Flor, released by Savalla Records.

The awards I’ve won before the first book came out – the Carioquinha, from Rio de Janeiro City hall, and the Adolfo Aizen, from Brazilian Writers Union (UBE), both in 2001 – were the beginning of everything.

The Books I Wrote

	UM BARCO, UM AVIÃO, UMA BOLHA DE SABÃO Illustr. Rogério Coelho - Ed. DCL - SP - 2007 Adolfo Aizen Award 2001 – UBE Anderson, Dudu and Antonia don’t know each other. 	CUIDADO! VEJA LÁ O QUE VAI FALAR! Illustr. Aragão, Ícone Ed. - SP - 2006 My grandma used to tell us that we should be careful with what we say. That we should never say something without thinking first. The words are alive. Sometimes they got asleep but sometimes they disconcert us. Or they stay so well hidden that even if we search everywhere, we won’t find them. But sometimes they are so much used that become wishes and than, magic words.
